For those who are gifted with sensibility, lives are imbued with
sensuality: fromworks of art to the food that nourishes us; and of course
from watching a seductive beauty to living up our sensual inspirations.
I believe eroticism is one of the most valuable subject matters in arts.
The photographic work of G. B. Sambuelli shows his unique interpretation
of exposing the female nude; the viewer discovers each model, leaving behind
voyeurism. The face of the model is an equal part to her signs of womanhood,
eyes talking sensuality, seduction, sexuality and beauty ... some models
seem to be cought in private surroundig shining in awareness of their beauty,
others seem to be sexually wired, all are presented and adored at the same
time by the lens of this Italian photographer. Black and white as well as
the colour photographies by G. B. Sambuelli are alove declaration to femininity;
the images are evocative and lush but without shrill obtrusiveness. G. B.
Sambuelli's nudes are not subjects; they are strong, self conscious, they
make us be the subjects, spectators feeling our heart beat faster, speachless
at the sight of pure female beauty and a clear photographic language, masterly
expressing the artist himself with contrast, light and shadow: "splendido"!

Die erotische Akt - Photographie, wie sie der italienische Photograph
Giovanni Batista Sambuelli handhabt, knüpft an die sogenannten "goldenen"
zwanziger Jahre an. In dieser Zeit entwickelte sich das Pin-up und Glamour
- Bild als neue photographische Ausdrucksform. Das künstlerische Ziel
hieß, eine höchstmögliche erotische Atmosphäre zu erzeugen,
ohne dabei auf pornographische Mittel und Elemente zurückzugreifen.
Hollywood Photograph George Hurrell umschrieb diesen Zustand so: "
Das Wort Glamour war für mich immer nur der Vorwand, um nicht von Sex
reden zu müssen." Sambuellis verführerische Arbeiten sind
moderne Interpretationen dieses Credos - ausdrucksstark, geschmackvoll und
elegant. Ein Stil, der der Weiblichkeit huldigt, ohne den Eros zu vernachlässigen.
